Editorial Intern - 2025–2026 School Year
The Editorial Department at Ave Maria Press
is looking for an intern to join the department for the 2025–2026 school year. The intern will learn about the editorial and publishing process by working with and for the editors in a collaborative community environment. The intern should be familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition.
Essential skills for this role include:
Accuracy
Analysis
Judgment
Quality
You should have an English, Communication, or other applicable major, such as Theology or Liberal Studies. You should be in your senior year at the start of the internship.
Your duties will include:
Performing copyediting and proofreading tasks on manuscripts and page proofs.
Studying and using the Chicago Manual of Style.
Researching, both at the library and online.
Participating in team and department brainstorming meetings.
Working independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks.
The position is part-time, paid or for credit, and 8–10 hours per week. Ave is located on the north end of the University of Notre Dame campus. We have one on-site and one remote opening available.
