Career Opportunities: Intern, Business Strategy (6780)
The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands‑on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.
Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one‑on‑one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

Our goal is to deliver a positive, impactful experience that inspires “fans for life” and prepares interns for future success in sports and beyond.
General Internship details and expectations: Our interns are paid $19.00 per hour and are expected to work 30-40 hours or more per week during the internship period.
Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship and be mostly onsite (no remote internships are available), which runs from mid‑July through the end of February.
Interns are expected to work flexible hours that include nights, holidays, and weekends.
Interns to provide their own housing and transportation.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Supports cross‑functional projects focused on improving business efficiency and fan experience.
Assists with coordinating projects across 49ers internal & affiliated businesses (Fanatics, Levy Restaurants, etc.).
Assists with building and updating detailed financial and analytical models to further business performance and deal negotiation.
Supports analysis of large data sets to identify actionable insights about 49ers fans and business.
Assists with creating high quality data visualizations for use by the organization and leadership.
Synthesizes insights into clear presentations to support leadership discussions.
Assists with development and presenting recommendations to internal team members and when appropriate, external client partners.
Conducts sports and entertainment industry research, including (but not limited to) teams, venues, competitors, trends, client prospects, current events, and emerging partnership categories.
Other duties as assigned.
Abilities & Skills:
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi‑task.
Strong oral communication skills and professionalism in all interactions with fans, staff, executives, team members, and corporate partners.
Detail‑oriented self‑starter with proven ability to learn new skills.
Team player, willing to contribute to ad hoc projects.
Education and Experience:
Recent graduate or current college student majoring in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Must be willing to work event days, including weekends, as required.
