Community Outreach Manager

Community Engagement Managers are integral members of the United Way of Southwest Oklahoma (UWSWOK) fundraising and community development team, building and strengthening individual, corporate, and community relationships, while leading strategic communications and marketing efforts that advance public support, volunteerism, program development, and revenue-generating initiatives. This role supports year-round engagement strategies and initiatives that advance UWSWOK’s mission and encourage deeper investment from donors, volunteers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities: Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including those in military, business, nonprofit, education, and faith sectors.

Design and execute engagement activities that increase awareness and create new opportunities for funding, partnership and collaboration.

Represent UWSWOK at events, meetings, and community forums to strengthen community ties.

Volunteer and Donor Development

Lead specific assigned areas such as volunteer recruitment and coordination, fundraising campaigns and events, and agency training and collaboration.

Build and manage a portfolio of donors, nurturing relationships that deepen commitment, increase giving and expand community investment.

Actively participate in with workplace campaigns, donor stewardship, and sponsorship development.

Help identify and secure new workplace, individual and corporate donors

Lead donor recognition and retention efforts including sharing stories of community impact.

Events & Campaign Coordination

Help plan and execute specific campaigns, fundraising, volunteer and community activities.

Oversee events and campaign logistics.

Monitor progress toward engagement and fundraising goals.

Ensure events align with UWSWOK’s mission and goals.

Communications

Work with CEO and Board to create and implement communication plan includes compelling messaging for donors, volunteers, and community members.

Manage communication strategy for donors and community outreach.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in donor development, fundraising and community outreach.

Proven success in building relationships, supporting fundraising events, and donor development.

Strong public speaking and communication skills.

Familiarity with CRM systems such as DonationTracker, DonorPerfect, Salesforce, or similar.

Knowledge of the Southwest Oklahoma region and a passion for community-focused work.
