About the role As a
Business Analyst – Retirement / Pensions , you will make an impact by driving tech-enabled transformation initiatives for retirement and pension clients. You will be a valued member of the
Cognizant Retirement Consulting Practice , working collaboratively with Cognizant leadership, cross‑functional delivery teams, and client stakeholders to modernize retirement platforms, enhance operational efficiency, and improve outcomes for plan members and beneficiaries.
In this role, you will:
Commercially represent Cognizant as a key member of the Retirement Consulting Practice
Partner with retirement and pension industry leaders to transform business models, operating processes, and technology platforms
Assess client maturity across the retirement value chain, including strategy, operating model, processes, applications, architecture, data, and integrations
Translate business objectives into defined project scope and executable tasks for delivery teams
Elicit, document, and validate business requirements; translate them into functional and technical specifications
Coordinate and support the implementation of technology enhancements and pension administration solutions
Test, monitor, and troubleshoot systems to ensure quality, accuracy, and performance
Review and sign off on retirement and pension requirements prior to client delivery
Provide training and ongoing support to end users and client teams
Collaborate with Cognizant and client leadership to plan and deliver value‑add projects
Manage project economics across one or more large initiatives or multiple smaller engagements
Identify and pursue upsell and expansion opportunities with existing clients
Lead and contribute to RFI/RFP responses and other business development efforts
Coach and mentor team members, delivering continuous and constructive feedback
Identify opportunities to build and expand retirement consulting practice capabilities
Contribute to case studies, white papers, points‑of‑view, and reusable consulting assets for the retirement and pension space
Support recruitment, onboarding, and practice growth initiatives

What you must have to be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field
4–6 years of operations and/or technology experience in the retirement or pension industry
Hands‑on experience supporting workplace defined contribution (DC) and/or defined benefit (DB) plans, annuities, NQDC, COLI, pension risk transfer, or similar retirement solutions
Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements
Experience working across software development life cycles, including agile methodologies
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
Retirement or pension industry operations and/or technology expertise
Strong work ethic, integrity, and collaborative mindset
These will help you succeed
Advanced degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field
Hands‑on experience with pension administration platforms and technologies
Understanding of real‑time (API‑based) versus asynchronous batch integrations
Experience defining and documenting data integration requirements, including XML, JSON, and flat‑file formats
Experience performing complex data mapping for system migrations and third‑party integrations
Working knowledge of SQL, database queries, and relational data models
Ability to translate complex business rules into clear functional specifications and workflows
Experience acting as a thought leader through authoring white papers, articles, and industry perspectives
Demonstrated people‑leadership capabilities and experience delivering training and career development
