Your role in helping us shape the future: We are looking for a motivated journalism student who is interested in learning about consumer advice editing. You will learn about our unique and highly respected brand of advice journalism; the tools and strategies that power a major media brand on the cutting edge of the information age; how to edit content for clarity, style and flow; SEO best practices; and how to produce and illustrate articles in our content management system. For the right intern, bylined writing opportunities are possible.
Are you up to the challenge?
Perform fact-checking
Identify and catalog articles that need to be updated
Update, edit and optimize older storiesCreate videos and other multimedia products for social media
Actively and enthusiastically participate in training and team activities
Assist with research or administrative tasks as needed
Help research and write advice-oriented content and articles
It would be nice if you had:
Knowledge of AP style
SEO-savvy and some familiarity with Google Analytics, Semrush or other SEO tools
Interest and/or familiarity in writing consumer advice content
Video and graphics capability
Social media savvy
Minimum Requirements:
Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
Part-time or full-time students who have completed 48-plus credit hours (rising juniors/seniors and graduate students) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace
Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
Good oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in the use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs
3.0 GPA or above preferred
Summer Intern Program Description:
10 weeks; starting Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, Aug. 7, 2026
We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday
All candidates must be able to work a hybrid in‑office work schedule from our Washington, D.C. or New York offices
Internship pays $17.50 per hour
Interns will be paired with a buddy (a mentor) in their office location for the duration of their internship.
