Communications & Events Specialist

* Write, edit, and proofread articles, stories, and announcements for the CECS electronic newsletter.* Develop engaging and relevant social media content that aligns with the university's positive branding and marketing goals.* Capture high-quality photographs that highlight events, students, and campus environment.* Design and layout the electronic newsletter using Mailchimp marketing platform.* Manage subscriber lists and ensure compliance with email marketing regulations.* Analyze and report on newsletter performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.* Plan and execute photo and video shoots.* Promote events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and the university’s website.* Collaborate with campus communications staff to ensure brand and messaging consistency and effectiveness.* Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.* Two (2) years of experience in story writing, content creation, event planning, or related experience.* Excellent writing, editing, public speaking, and leadership abilities.* Intermediate skills with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).* Knowledge of web site organization/design, social media platforms (Instagram & LinkedIn), and internet technologies and terms.* Attention to detail.* Self-motivated and self-directed.* Strong organizational skills.* Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a related field.* Experience in graphic design and web content management.* Proficiency in Cascade, Mailchimp marketing platform, etc.* Proven experience in event planning and coordination in an educational setting.* Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP)* Voluntary Tax Deferred Account/Deferred Compensation PlanThe Texas A&M University System is one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a statewide network of twelve universities, eight state agencies, a comprehensive health science center, Texas A&M-Fort Worth and Texas A&M-RELLIS.The A&M System is committed to providing an educational and work environment that is conducive to the personal and professional development of each employee.Each member institution provides equal opportunity and access to all students, employees and prospective employees. #J-18808-Ljbffr
