Through exhibitions, screenings, performances, educational programs, and artist residencies, the Wex serves as a vital forum where artists test ideas and audiences engage with the art and issues of our time.The Graphic and Motion Designer will work in the center’s Department of Marketing and Communications, collaborating extensively with the team’s designer(s), editors, and interns. This team member will conceive and produce creative and institutionally aligned material—both print and digital—in support of the Wexner Center’s visual arts, film, performing arts, and education programming areas and its advancement department.In the near term, the role reports to the Editorial Director and will also collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Communications and a partner brand agency for creative direction. The scope of work includes but is not limited to print collateral (including advertisements, posters, flyers, programs, signage, and brochures), electronic communications (including graphics for email, social media, and our website, as well as digital slides and signage), and graphic animations for video. A knowledge of photography is a plus. The role must be able to work individually but also as part of a team.The Graphic and Motion Designer role expectations:Participates in meetings with the Wexner Center marketing and communications team (which includes the Head of Marketing and Communications, Web Developer, editorial team, Social Media and Digital Accessibility Manager, Project Manager, and Director of Marketing Content) and other center colleaguesParticipates in meetings with the Wexner Center’s brand agency partnerWill work with vendors through the phases of estimation and production, including press checksHours vary, with a minimum of three days per week on-site; some weekends and evening work may be requiredSuccessful completion of a background check required prior to start date**Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience**Required Qualifications*** 0–2 years of relevant experience* Familiarity with the following software and hardware: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Media Encoder, and DLSR camera equipment* Design portfolio for consideration (PDF or website preferred)* Experience working and communicating in a fast-paced team environment* Proven experience tracking and delivering to deadlines* Experience in receiving creative feedback and adjusting work accordingly**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience following brand guidelines and design templates* Photography experience and ability to take photos at programs and events* Experience working in a museum or contemporary visual arts, film, or performing arts organization* Skill/experience video trailers and basic video editing* Knowledge of or experience with principles of accessible design## Additional Information:Please submit both a cover letter and a resume to be considered for this opportunity.Position is a member of the American Federation of State, County,& Municipal Employees Local 322, Ohio Council 8, AFL-CIO**The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $20.95 - $26.70**.
