We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Customs Entry Writer
to join our growing logistics team in Secaucus, NJ. This role is responsible for preparing and processing U.S. Customs documentation, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations, and coordinating closely with brokers, carriers, and clients to facilitate smooth import/export operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate customs entries in compliance with CBP regulations
Classify goods using HTS codes and verify duty rates
Review shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
Communicate with customs officials, importers, and internal departments to resolve entry issues
Monitor shipment status and ensure timely clearance
Maintain detailed records and ensure audit-ready documentation
Stay up to date on regulatory changes and compliance requirements
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of customs entry writing or brokerage experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import/export procedures
Experience with customs software systems (e.g., ABI systems)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Licensed Customs Broker certification is a plus (not required)
