Senior Interior Designer

POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible for producing high-quality project design deliverables in construction documents while managing projects through all phases. Advocates for the Company’s vision, style, aesthetic, and standards in residential design and collaborates with the design team to produce designs that are ahead of the curve. Leads all phases of development including: Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration, while overseeing project schedules, budgets, and client communication. Reports to the Design Manager and works directly with them to ensure successful project delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Determines project priorities with the Design Manager.

Monitors project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Verifies plan accuracy, performs redline markups, and ensure project scope is met within determined deadlines

Develops vignettes, hand sketches, and Revit-based models (2D/3D) to convey design concepts.

Clearly articulates design concepts using logical reasoning and sound design principles.

Completes design documentation, specification writing, RFIs, and construction administration for assigned projects.

Completes peer review for design documentation and specification writing

Coordinates directly with consultants, contractors, and vendors to align with project goals.

Maintains regular communication with field coordinators and construction managers to ensure quality control and adherence to schedules.

Ensures assigned tasks meet company standards while maintaining a highly billable efficiency rate.

Mentors supporting designers and design assistants guided by Design Manager.

Provides guidance, and performance feedback to design team members.

Regularly reports project status to Interior Design Manager.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

5–10 years of professional interior design experience

Strong project coordination experience, including budgeting, scheduling, consultant coordination, and construction administration.

Strong client presentation experience

Practical construction knowledge with ability to read and interpret architectural plans.

Expertise in Revit (2D and 3D modeling required); proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of ArchiCad is a plus but not required.

Experience with BlueBeam, redlighting design documents as needed

Strong focus on residential design, custom installations, and architectural interior detailing.

Experience in procurement, staging and specifying residential furniture is a plus.

Experience in managing client relationships and communication throughout all design phases.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
