
High School Youth Director

Position Summary
The High School Pastor is responsible for leading, discipling, and caring for high school students (grades 9–12) by creating environments where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus, build meaningful community, and live out their faith. This role provides vision, leadership, teaching, and pastoral care for the high school ministry while partnering with parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership & Teaching
Teach biblically sound, engaging messages to high school students on a regular basis
Develop and implement a discipleship pathway for students
Pray for and pastor students, encouraging spiritual growth and Christ-centered living
Ministry Leadership & Programming
Plan, lead, and oversee weekly high school gatherings, small groups, and special events
Create a welcoming, safe, and fun environment for students and visitors
Oversee retreats, camps, and outreach opportunities throughout the year
Volunteer Leadership
Recruit, train, equip, and care for adult volunteers and small group leaders
Build a healthy volunteer culture focused on discipleship and relational ministry
Provide ongoing communication, coaching, and encouragement to volunteers
Student & Family Care
Build meaningful relationships with students through presence, mentorship, and availability
Partner with parents by communicating regularly and supporting families spiritually
Provide pastoral care during seasons of crisis, transition, or need
Collaboration & Administration
Work closely with the Next Gen team and church staff to align vision and values
Manage ministry calendar, curriculum planning, and budget as assigned
Maintain clear communication and timely follow-through on ministry tasks
Qualifications
A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to student ministry
Agreement with the church’s mission, vision, and statement of faith
Experience leading or serving in student ministry (preferred)
Strong relational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to connect authentically with high school students and adults
Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
Education & Experience
Previous Youth Pastor experience
Work Schedule
Must be flexible including weekends, evenings, and special events
