Editorial Intern [Summer]
Godfrey Dadich, San Francisco, CA, United States
GDP is a creative marketing agency that combines the best of strategy, design, and journalism to help brands clarify complexity. We are looking for a summer intern to join our team of journalists and nonfiction storytellers.
Our talented crew of editors, writers, creative directors, video producers, and brand strategists have created an award‑winning Netflix series, redesigned National Geographic magazine, made a documentary about iconic sneakers, and spearheaded the launch of Microsoft’s WorkLab digital publication, which includes newsletters, reports, feature stories, and a podcast.
The focus of the internship is content creation and research. Our clients include large tech corporations, media companies, arts and culture organizations, and nonprofits.
They are self‑starters who prefer solving challenges their own way before collaborating, are comfortable receiving an assignment or directions, and take responsibility for communications with their team when they want assistance or guidance.
This is a paid hybrid role (in office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with our award‑winning team of journalists and editors (formerly with WIRED, Ad Age, Harper’s, Associated Press) on new project launches
Writing stories across platforms and crafting social media posts
Sitting in on editorial strategy meetings
Collaborating with a diverse mix of teams—including art directors, engineers, and video producers to account managers and strategists—to refine and elevate your work
Researching industries, digital trends, pop culture, design, and other topics for ongoing editorial and client projects
Working on a collaborative Intern Pitch Project that gives interns from different teams an opportunity to create a proposal and build a pitch from the ground up
Qualifications
A commitment of up to 40 hours a week from June through August
Junior, senior, or recent graduate preferred
Highly collaborative and resourceful self‑starter who proactively moves projects forward between check‑ins
Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
About GDP The rise of AI, turbulent financial markets, and the climate emergency create deeply complex times—and our marketing agency is purpose‑built for this moment. Organizations need to know who they are, what they stand for, and what they’re here to do. They need to communicate their ideas and ideals in clear and compelling ways, and that’s where GDP comes in.
Hourly Rate: $20.00
