Job Summary The primary objective of the Associate Controller- Foundations is to provide supervision of the day‑to‑day financial operations of multiple nonprofit foundations supported by Foundations Accounting while assisting each entity in carrying out their mission. This position will be responsible for completing/overseeing preparation of internal and audited financial statements and other financial reports, monitoring and managing all aspects of the general ledger to ensure accuracy as well as the completion of timely reconciliations, reviewing or providing periodic, or as needed, analysis and variances, coordinating or assisting with the budget process, managing general accounting, accounts payable, and financial analysis, ensuring Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are followed and researching accounting issues for compliance, making decisions related to/assisting with the development of processes and procedures, assisting with coordinating audits and serving as a liaison with external auditors, and serving as back‑up to the CFO – Foundations.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in accounting, business or related field from an accredited college or university is required. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with equivalent experience to a master's degree may be substituted.
Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Considerable knowledge with financial reporting software.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to prepare, assemble, review and analyze complex financial data.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent decision‑making skills.
Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and interpret administrative policies and procedures.
Considerable progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance including recent experience as an Assistant/Associate Controller, or related position.
Considerable supervisory experience including demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Considerable experience in commercial real estate property accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
Considerable not‑for‑profit accounting experience preferred.
Current CPA certification preferred, other relevant certifications accepted.
Considerable experience with MIP Fund Accounting or other fund accounting software.
Considerable experience with Yardi Voyager or other commercial property management software.
Conditions of Employment Completion of Statement of Personal Economic Interests is required upon hire.
