The Press is seeking a detail‑oriented newspaper Editor to supervise and evaluate the work of writers, reporters, and other editorial staff.
General Responsibilities Include
Planning and coordinating the content of the newspaper, including news, features, and opinion pieces
Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and fairness of all published content
Overseeing the layout and design of the newspaper
Managing deadlines and production schedules to ensure timely publication
Editing and proofreading articles for grammar, punctuation, and style
Collaborating with other departments such as advertising, marketing, and circulation
Staying updated on current events and industry trends to inform editorial decisions
Enforcing ethical guidelines and editorial standards
Reviewing and approving final versions of articles before publication
Handling reader feedback and issues related to published content
Other duties as needed
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
Established residency in Pennsylvania
Valid PA Driver's License and good driving record
Previous editorial experience preferred
Proficiency using Outlook and Microsoft Office Programs
Strong Computer Skills
Excellent Communication Skills - Oral and Written
Excellent Organizational Skills
Excellent Time Management Skills
Ability to maintain a friendly and positive attitude
Ability to effectively oversee and collaborate with editorial team members and other departments on a daily basis
Ability to travel locally for work purposes as needed
