Social Media Intern
Soapy Joe's Car Wash, Santee, CA, United States
Love social media? Want your content to be seen by real audiences—not buried in a folder? This is your chance to get hands‑on experience managing live brand channels, creating content people actually engage with, and learning how social media fuels brand growth.
We’re looking for a creative, detail‑oriented Social Media Intern to support our Marketing team by helping plan, create, and publish engaging content across our social platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with marketers, contribute to campaigns and promotions, and help bring community moments to life—while building skills that translate directly into a marketing career.
What You’ll Do
Create and schedule content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Capture and edit short‑form photo and video content for stories, reels, and posts
Support marketing campaigns, promotions, and local market highlights
Monitor comments, messages, and engagement—and flag opportunities or issues
Help manage a content calendar and ensure posts align with brand guidelines
Track basic performance metrics like engagement, reach, and follower growth
Research trends, hashtags, and content ideas to keep channels fresh and relevant
Support on‑site content capture at select locations or events (as needed)
What You’ll Learn
How brands use social media to drive engagement, awareness, and growth
Best practices for short‑form content creation and storytelling
How campaigns move from idea to content to performance
Intro‑level social analytics and reporting
How to collaborate within a professional marketing team
Requirements What We’re Looking For
Passionate about social media, content creation, and digital marketing
Familiar with major social platforms and current trends
Comfortable using a smartphone to capture photos and videos
Experience with tools like Canva, CapCut, or similar apps is a plus
Organized, reliable, and eager to learn
Positive attitude with strong attention to detail
Schedule & Hours This is a part‑time position averaging approximately 15–20 hours per week, typically spread across three weekdays. Occasional weekend availability may be required to support special events, such as New Site Opening (NSO) celebrations or company functions.
Why This Internship is Different This isn’t a “coffee‑run” internship. You’ll work on real brand channels, see your content go live, and gain practical experience you can showcase in a portfolio or interview. If you want to learn by doing—and make an impact while you’re at it—this role is for you.
