Director of Social Strategy
BioTalent, New York, NY, United States
We are seeking a strategic, framework-driven Director of Social Strategy to lead and evolve our social capability within a complex, highly regulated environment. This individual will integrate social cross-functionally, expand its impact across the organization, and bring structure, accountability, and measurable outcomes to our approach. The ideal candidate has deep pharma experience, strong CRM-social fluency, and a track record of building scalable systems, not just campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Build and deploy internal frameworks that integrate social across Medical, Commercial, PR, CRM, and Brand teams
Expand the scope and impact of social by embedding it into broader omnichannel strategy
Lead and mentor a small social team, including cross-functional task forces to operationalize new approaches
Develop and implement RACIs, playbooks, and governance models to educate internal and external stakeholders
Strengthen CRM-social pathways, ensuring data-informed audience journeys and measurable business impact
Push back constructively on “social as amplification” mindsets and champion strategic, insight-led activation
Partner closely with PR and external agencies on influencer and ambassador initiatives, with ownership over strategic direction
Guide client presentations and internal executive discussions with clarity, focus, and executive presence
Qualifications
7 to 10+ years of social strategy experience, with significant experience in pharma or other regulated industries
Demonstrated success building scalable social frameworks and integrating social cross-functionally
Experience leading small teams and driving adoption of new processes or governance structures
Strong understanding of CRM integration, audience segmentation, and data-driven optimization
Experience collaborating with PR and influencer partners; direct influencer strategy experience strongly preferred
Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to be concise, structured, and client-ready
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strategic thinker who brings structure to ambiguity
Comfortable challenging status quo thinking around social
Skilled at translating vision into operational plans
Balances big-picture thinking with hands‑on execution
Polished communicator who can adapt messaging to senior stakeholders and clients
