Recreation Services Representative HIRING RANGE:

$20.82-$23.43 per hour

About The Position The Recreation Services Representative performs a variety of customer service duties to include providing information regarding Parks and Recreation services and activities, processing facility and park rentals, scheduling fields, courts, and facilities, preparing contracts, completing activity and class registration and pass sales, and processing and balancing a high volume of money. The Recreation Services Representative must work well with large groups of diverse populations and provide high levels of service.

About Grand Junction Parks And Recreation The Parks and Recreation Department enhances the quality of life in Grand Junction by maintaining and developing vibrant recreational spaces and facilities for residents and visitors. The department manages 45 parks, 25 playgrounds, 24 park shelters, 5 indoor recreation facilities, and a multitude of outdoor facilities. This recruitment is happening at a very exciting time, the citizens of Grand Junction voted to approve a ballot question to build a new Community Recreation Center (CRC) with an anticipated opening date of late‑2026. The selected candidate will be a member of a team that is excited to open and operate the CRC.

Due to the operational needs of this recreation facility, this role will work hours outside of standard business hours to include evenings and/or weekends.

What You'll Do

Provide excellent customer service in person, over the telephone and via the internet.

Process rentals and reservations of park shelters, fields, and facilities.

Prepare permits, contracts, and supporting documents.

Process activity and class registrations.

Create and maintain booking calendars for various facilities.

Collect and process a high volume of monies, including registration and facility use payments, pass sales, and program registrations.

Support Summer Camp registration processes.

Utilize various computer hardware and software packages including Microsoft applications and RecTrac software.

Maintain customer accounts and activity/course information.

Review and administer the distribution of scholarship funds.

Interpret, apply, and communicate policies and procedures.

Perform other accounting and clerical functions as required.

What We're Looking For

Two years of increasingly responsible customer service experience, using all modes of communication.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Ability to genuinely interact with customers to provide a positive experience.

Ability to accurately gather, input, and record information.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment and learn the operations, services, and activities of the Parks and Recreation Department.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
