Junior Associate – Leasing

AMCAP, INCORPORATED is a vertically integrated private real estate investment firm founded in 1979 with primary offices in Stamford, Connecticut and Denver, Colorado. The firm focuses on grocery-anchored and necessity retail shopping centers in the Top 100 U.S. MSAs. AmCap's growing nationwide portfolio includes 23 properties totaling approximately 5 million square feet, representing nearly $1 billion in assets under management. The firm is actively investing in value-add and core-plus transactions on behalf of its institutional investors.

Position Overview: The Junior Associate - Leasing will support leasing activity across AmCap’s portfolio of necessity retail shopping centers. This role will be based in our Denver office and report to the Managing Director – Leasing.

This position will work closely with senior leasing leadership and gain hands‑on exposure to the full leasing lifecycle, including tenant prospecting, market analysis, property tours, deal support, and lease execution. The Junior Associate – Leasing will have the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of retail leasing fundamentals while collaborating with internal teams across Asset Management, Property Management, Accounting, and Construction.

Essential Functions:

Support leasing activity across assigned properties by assisting the Managing Director – Leasing and broader Leasing team.

Conduct market research on retail tenants, lease comparables, and competitive shopping centers within target markets.

Track tenant expansion activity and assist with prospecting and pipeline development for local, regional, and national tenants.

Prepare leasing reports, market summaries, and prospect lists to support leasing strategy and negotiations.

Assist with the preparation of leasing proposals, presentations, and letters of intent (LOIs).

Maintain leasing data and reporting within internal systems, including Yardi Retail Manager, Voyager, or similar real estate platforms.

Coordinate property tours and assist with broker meetings, tenant outreach, and leasing events.

Support tenant outreach initiatives and help maintain broker and tenant contact databases.

Track deal progress and assist with documentation and internal coordination throughout the leasing process.

Collaborate with Asset Management, Accounting, Property Management, and Construction teams to gather information supporting leasing activity and portfolio reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field

0–2 years of experience in commercial real estate, internships in brokerage, leasing, development, or asset management strongly preferred

Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in commercial retail leasing

Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Outstanding initiative, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to quickly learn new technology and real estate systems

Exposure to Yardi Retail Manager, Voyager, ARGUS, or similar real estate software is a plus

Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000

Annual discretionary performance bonus
