The Authority's mission is to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Overview of the Role The Community Outreach/Modernization Coordinator acts as a bridge between an organization and the community it serves, fostering positive relationships through communication and engagement. They work to ensure the organization is aware of community needs and that the community understands the organization's activities and goals. This role involves building trust, facilitating communication, promoting collaboration, and work to reestablish positive public perception of LCHA.
Experience:
Three years of experience in administrative services, housing management, real estate, or social services.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties
Establish target partnership with the Lake Charles Community:
Financial
Commercial
Other Community Based Agencies
Government Entities e.g. City of Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish
Effectively communicate the organization’s message, goals, and activities to the community, and conversely, relay community feedback and concerns to the organization.
Identify and understand the specific needs and priorities of the community to inform organizational planning and service delivery.
Provide information about the organization’s programs, services, and resources to the community.
Identify and communicate to the Executive Director items of concern that may arise between the organization and the community.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to document community engagement activities and outcomes.
Position-Specific Details
Appointment Type:
Probational – up to 24 months
Career Progression:
This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
