Position Overview The Cooperative Finance Association (CFA) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Loan Closing & Documentation Specialist that will play a crucial role in the daily lending processes and security documentation. Responsibilities include reviewing, documenting, and efficiently funding loans and streamlining the loan processing to minimize turn‑around time. Collaborate and work in a team environment to accomplish goals and meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities Documentation/Processes/Compliance

Process loan submittals and loan approvals.

Maintain an active pipeline of pending status loans which are awaiting additional documents to complete the approval process.

Verify entity applicants’ existence, determine the entities standing with the applicable state(s) and confirm correct business name(s) as registered with the Secretary of State.

Working within the UCC portfolio, including lien searches, new filings, amendments, continuations and terminations.

Ensure loan documentation and collateral documents are accurate to minimize risk.

Work closely with the Input Finance Account Managers to prepare applicable loans for approval or loan committee submission and review for approval.

Review and analysis of credit bureau reports.

Participate in the collection of supporting documents and resolution of discrepancies for external audits.

Customer Experience

Prompt response to customers’ inquiries and concerns over all media (internal and external).

Complete customer projects with other team members as management request.

Collaborate with team members on special projects that strengthen our culture and relationships with our customers.

Develop and recommend enhancements to processes that improve the customer experience and efficiencies while mitigating risk.

Handle customers’ personal information with a high degree of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications and skills

Associate's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field.

2+ years of experience in customer service, processing, data input, scorecard-based lending, loan documentation or similar experience.

Excellent written, communication, presentation, and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to interpret policy, programs, and regulations.

Preferred agriculture industry experience.

High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.

Highly attentive to customer relationships and retention.

Ability to build strategic relationships for developing marketing plans and supporting program utilization.

Ability to work independently and possess problem solving skills.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
