The full-time position is for a Director of Religious Education at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia, with a minor support presence at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Port Wentworth, Georgia. The principal focus will be the organization and execution of the Religious Education Program of Corpus Christi, as well as the Parish Youth Program (PACT). The Director of Religious Education must be involved in the life of the parish community to build trust and engage young people, and in doing so, build trust with parents and the community as a whole. General Characteristics:
Dynamic Fluent English and preferably some Spanish Experience working with youth, preferably a degree or certificate in theology or catechetics Excellent organizational and verbal skills Self-motivated Engaging personality Able to multi-task Flexibility Responsibilities
Develop, administer and evaluate the parish faith formation program for children and youth, including sacramental preparation, recruiting and training volunteers, and implementing Safe Environment protocols. Organize with volunteers: family events that engage faith formation families and general parishioners (eg: Advent wreath making, family retreats, Christmas pageant, Corpus Christi feast day, sacramental year retreats). Assist the Pastor in special cases for sacramental preparation. Plan and execute weekly youth group meetings, retreat and social events. Recruit, train and supervise volunteers to assist with both religious education program and youth group. Manage the budget, select curriculum materials and maintain accurate records for the Faith Formation Program and Youth Group. Organize small fundraisers for the Youth Group. Oversee social media for the Youth Group and assist with parish social media presence. Work weekends and evenings as needed for activities and programs. Report directly to the Pastor, collaborate closely with other parish staff and volunteers. Assist with parish office tasks as needed. Coordinate with the Youth Minister and Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Lourdes, Port Wentworth, for collaboration opportunities. NOTE:
