experienced General Sales Manager (GSM)

who can lead from the front, develop people, and drive consistent growth across

new, used, and F&I operations .

What You'll Do

Lead the sales team to achieve monthly volume and gross targets

Oversee

New Car, Used Car, and F&I departments

Drive used car inventory strategy and acquisition

Manage desking, deal structure, and profit performance

Build strong accountability and training culture

Work closely with marketing and BDC to drive traffic

Ensure exceptional customer experience and CSI performance

What We're Looking For

Minimum

3–5 years dealership leadership experience

Proven ability to grow volume and profitability

Strong used car inventory and appraisal skills

Experience with

desking deals and managing F&I performance

Ability to recruit, train, and retain top talent

High integrity and strong leadership presence

The General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for overseeing all sales operations including

new vehicle sales, used vehicle sales, F&I performance, and sales team development .

This role focuses on

driving profitability, building a strong sales culture, and creating an exceptional customer experience

while maintaining accountability across the sales department.

Core Responsibilities Sales Leadership

Lead and manage

New Car Manager, Used Car Manager, and Sales Managers

Set and monitor monthly sales and gross profit goals

Conduct daily sales meetings and performance reviews

Ensure strong showroom and phone sales processes

Maintain high customer satisfaction and review scores

Used Vehicle Operations

Oversee used vehicle inventory strategy

Maintain proper

inventory levels, turn rate, and aging management

Ensure competitive pricing and merchandising

Lead appraisal strategy and trade acquisition

Profitability & Deal Structure

Oversee deal structuring and desking

Monitor front-end and back-end gross performance

Ensure deals meet dealership profitability standards

Work closely with F&I to maximize penetration and product sales

Staff Development

Recruit, train, and mentor sales staff

Create a culture of accountability and professionalism

Provide ongoing sales training and coaching

Improve employee retention and morale

Marketing & Traffic Development

Work with marketing and BDC to drive showroom traffic

Monitor lead conversion and appointment show rates

Assist in promotional campaigns and community engagement
