CRF Student Ambassador
Position Title: CRF Student Ambassador (Posting Number: 20260056V). Posting Type: Student Hours/week: 10. Eligibility: Work study preferred but open to all students. Semester: 2026-2027. Academic Year: 2026-2027. Location: Garey Hall. Department: 165 - Office of U/G Research & Fellowships.
Work Schedule: CRF is open 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Students work a minimum of 10 hours per week, typically in 2–4 hour shifts.
Position Summary The Center for Research and Fellowships (CRF) administers three key areas of programming at Villanova University: student research, nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, and the Presidential Scholars Program (PSP). CRF seeks an undergraduate student worker to support general office functions starting in Fall 2026. Student workers will have numerous opportunities to develop professional skills through writing, editing, outreach, and events. This position reports to CRF’s Senior Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
Front Desk & Operations: Greet all guests to the CRF – Office of Education Abroad (OEA) office suite; check in appointments; answer in-person and phone inquiries; support editorial and data projects; assist CRF staff with programmatic needs.
Events: Provide support with events, including the autumn Student Research Symposium and February Presidential Scholars Interview Program. Create and edit promotional materials.
Outreach: Assist in outreach and recruitment of candidates for external scholarships and fellowships, such as the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and other awards. Promote CRF through on-campus tabling and orientation events (occasionally on weekends/evenings).
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal/customer service skills. Frequent interaction with students, staff, and external stakeholders like Villanova applicants, parents, and high school guidance counselors (in person and by phone).
Interest in writing, proofreading, and editorial work.
Willingness to take initiative.
Reliability, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to discreetly manage sensitive information in accordance with University and FERPA confidentiality guidelines.
Students from any major or program on campus are welcome to apply.
Additional Information Physical Demands: The job is physically comfortable and mostly requires a typical desk sitting position.
Wage Rate: $13.00 per hour.
