Cobble Hill Nursing Facility is seeking an experienced and hands‑on
Maintenance Director
to oversee all plant operations and ensure a safe, compliant, and well‑maintained environment for our residents and staff.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and knowledgeable in skilled nursing facility regulations and building systems management.
Position Summary The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation, safety, and appearance of the facility's physical plant. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining a comfortable and secure environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance Department
Maintain compliance with DOH, Life Safety Code, and other regulatory requirements
Supervise and schedule maintenance staff
Manage preventative maintenance programs and documentation
Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systems
Ensure emergency preparedness and disaster readiness plans are in place
Coordinate inspections, surveys, and regulatory visits
Maintain vendor relationships and manage service contracts
Oversee building renovations and capital projects as needed
Ensure grounds and facility aesthetics are properly maintained
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a nursing home or healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of Life Safety Code and skilled nursing facility regulations
Experience managing plant operations in a multi‑story building
Ability to pass FDNY and required safety certifications (F‑01 preferred or ability to obtain)
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent problem‑solving and organizational abilities
Availability for on‑call emergencies as needed
