Job description: Job Summary We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Experienced Structural Steel Estimators to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the estimation process for structural steel projects by analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project delivery. * Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and requirements * Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid to prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects * Assist in quantity take-offs using Bluebeam and other digital tools to accurately measure materials and labor needs * Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms * Support the development of bid proposals by compiling cost data, schedules, and project timelines * Contribute to cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets and identifying potential savings * Participate in project meetings to coordinate with construction management teams and ensure estimates align with project goals * Gain exposure to construction site activities, contracts, and project management processes to build comprehensive industry knowledge
Qualifications
* Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and practices * Familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar estimating software is preferred * Strong negotiation skills for obtaining competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors * Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety standards related to structural steel work * Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations * Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, suppliers, and clients * Construction site experience or exposure is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn on the job is essential
