Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Scientific Illustrator to collaborate closely with our scientific and technical teams to translate complex concepts into clear, accurate, and visually compelling graphics. This individual will play a key role in developing figures, schematics, and presentation materials that support manuscripts, grant submissions, technical communications, and high-impact research publications. The ideal candidate combines artistic skill with scientific literacy and has a strong ability to understand technical content and communicate it visually for both expert and broader audiences. Key Responsibilities

Scientific Visualization

Create detailed figures, diagrams, and graphical abstracts for manuscripts, posters, and technical documents. Transform raw data, experimental workflows, and complex methodologies into clear visual narratives. Collaborate with researchers to ensure scientific accuracy and clarity of all illustrations. Design publication-ready artwork that meets journal formatting and resolution requirements. Publication & Manuscript Support

Assist authors in preparing visual content for submission to leading peer-reviewed journals. Interpret reviewer feedback related to figures and revise artwork accordingly. Ensure consistency of style, labeling, and visual standards across publications. Support supplementary materials such as infographics, cover art concepts, and explanatory visuals. Presentation Development

Develop high-quality slides and visual assets for scientific presentations, conferences, and internal reviews. Work alongside subject-matter experts to create compelling visual storytelling for complex research topics. Standardize templates and visual identity for technical communications. Design Standards & Asset Management

Maintain organized libraries of icons, schematics, and reusable visual components. Establish visual guidelines for scientific graphics to ensure clarity, consistency, and scalability. Stay current with visualization tools, design trends, and publication requirements. Qualifications

Degree in Scientific Illustration, Biomedical Visualization, Graphic Design, or a related discipline with strong exposure to science or engineering fields. 2+ years of experience creating scientific or technical illustrations (portfolio required). Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific literature and communicate complex ideas visually. Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or 3D visualization software (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D). Experience preparing figures for peer-reviewed publications preferred. Strong attention to detail, typography, and layout in technical contexts. Excellent collaboration and communication skills when working with researchers. What We're Looking For
