Role Overview As a Regional Director you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the development and successful delivery of CoStar’s growth objectives for your assigned region. You will grow and develop the region’s revenues by selling new subscriptions, upselling to existing customers, and ensuring high levels of customer service and renewal rates. You will manage a sales team focused on new and existing customer business, product adoption, and exceptional service.
Responsibilities
Grow regional and team revenues, meeting and exceeding annual sales growth targets.
Attract, hire, develop, motivate and manage high‑impact salespeople capable of exceeding quotas.
Spend 3–4 days per week in the field, providing coaching and training to enhance sales effectiveness.
Identify, prioritize, and win new client relationships while retaining and growing existing accounts.
Know all major accounts in the market.
Monitor sales performance and hold salespeople accountable to required activity levels and client relationships.
Actively manage team members’ weekly activities and maintain accurate use of the Enterprise CRM system.
Establish individual and team performance targets aligned with business goals; monitor and address performance issues promptly.
Develop and mentor all team members.
Ensure the CoStar culture and values are adopted by the team.
Basic Qualifications
External Candidates:
5+ years of experience directly managing 6+ sales professionals, attracting, hiring, training, and developing a high‑performing sales team; responsible for a recurring revenue book of business over $10 million annually.
Internal Candidates:
Minimum 5 years overall sales experience, including 24+ months in a quota‑carrying role at CoStar, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
All candidates: bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college/university.
Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a Driving Record check prior to start.
Experience leading sales efforts in a fast‑paced, consultative model and delivering expected sales results.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Client‑facing experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build long‑term, sustainable relationships and business partnerships with clients at all levels.
Track record of rapidly growing a sales territory or market via new client acquisition and existing account growth, consistently exceeding performance targets over multiple years.
Effective internal and external relationship‑building skills.
Ability to retain proven sales producers and remove non‑producers.
