Duties and Responsibilities Client Consultations
Meet clients to create enjoyable and efficient consultation experiences.
Engage clients in conversations to understand their dreams and desires for the space.
Ensure clear communication, set expectations, deliver excellent results, and provide ongoing client care.
Site Analysis and Design
Understand each site to design according to the land's needs and the client's wants.
Conduct site analysis and take measurements.
Consider environmental factors such as drainage, energy availability, tree locations, drainage issues, and grade changes.
Envision the potential of the space with knowledge of hardscape construction, plant material, and design elements.
Discuss the scope and scale of the property's livability during the initial consultation.
Design Management
Manage the design process.
Prepare the site plan and graphic presentation yourself or subcontract to an in-house or external designer.
Prepare cost estimates and oversee the project’s budget.
Present the design and estimate to clients for approval.
Project Collaboration and Management
Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure designs are buildable and job sites are efficient.
Serve as a project manager for each of your jobs.
Periodically visit job sites to check on progress and address needs.
Basic Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Horticulture (BS, Hort) or Landscape Architecture (BLA) and a minimum of 5 years experience in high-end residential work for discerning clients.
Additional compensation is given to those possessing a Setting of Landscape Plants (SLP) and Landscape Design (LD) license attained through the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries (ADAI).
Ability to pass our prescreening process, including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening
Physical Requirements
Must be able to access and navigate our bulk yard, loading areas, office space, and other aspects of our facilities
Must be able to access and navigate project sites, which entail elevation changes and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions (i.e., extreme cold, direct sun)
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
