VMG performs mechanical construction projects across a variety of sectors including commercial office buildings, multifamily developments, government facilities, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and mission‑critical facilities.
Position Overview Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking an experienced
Sheet Metal Superintendent
to lead field operations on commercial HVAC construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing sheet metal installation crews, coordinating daily jobsite activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise field installation of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems
Lead and coordinate sheet metal crews, foremen, and subcontractors
Plan and manage daily jobsite activities to maintain production schedules
Review drawings, specifications, and coordination models to guide installation
Work closely with Project Managers and BIM teams to resolve field conflicts
Monitor productivity and manpower planning
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Coordinate with general contractors and other trades on site
Maintain quality standards and ensure installations meet project requirements
Qualifications
7+ years of sheet metal experience in commercial HVAC construction
Prior experience as Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and sheet metal installation methods
Ability to read mechanical drawings and coordination layouts
Strong leadership and crew management skills
Experience working on large commercial construction projects
Example Projects Include
Large multifamily developments
Data centers and mission‑critical facilities
Commercial office buildings
Healthcare and higher education campuses
Government and institutional projects
