Job Description

HokieVision's goal is to deliver personalized, significant and unexpected experiences to fans at all of Virginia Tech's home venues. As part of the HokieVision team, the Associate Director of In-Venue Experience (IVX) – Creative will excel in entertaining the best college fans in the country. This position is part of the In-Venue Experience team, and will focus on the creation of intro videos, hype videos, player features and motion graphics for our in-venue video screens. Will collaborate with the Athletics' external leadership team to plan and execute department initiatives. This position will also coordinate in developing, producing, and executing videoboard shows. This position reports to the Assistant AD, In-Venue Experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant experience, or a master's degree.
  • Ability to visually tell stories that contribute to fan experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting, while also being self‑motivated, organized, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed.
  • Submission of a creative reel or examples of previous work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with live game production & related equipment.
  • Experience supervising or training students.
  • In‑game control room or camera experience.
  • Experience collaborating on, critiquing, and approving creative content from other editors.
  • Experience leading, setting up, and directing team video shoots, including headshots, green screen, player features.
  • Ability to showcase a team’s brand and vision through creating intro videos, hype videos, and other creative media.
