Position Overview
The Director of Business Development is a senior leader responsible for driving strategic revenue growth across multiple programs, partnerships, sponsorships, and enterprise initiatives. This role provides oversight of diverse revenue‑generating portfolios, including corporate partnerships, fundraising programs, procurement initiatives, large‑scale events, and specialized service programs.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, proven leadership experience, and a track record of developing sustainable growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify and launch new revenue‑generating initiatives and strategic partnerships.
- Establish performance metrics and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure sustained growth.
- Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Cultivate and maintain high‑level corporate relationships at the local, state, and national levels.
- Develop compelling sponsorship proposals and partnership strategies.
- Oversee exhibit halls and large‑scale events featuring 100+ exhibitors, ensuring strong financial performance and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Provide strategic oversight of membership and digital fundraising initiatives.
- Guide campaign strategy, vendor management, and performance evaluation to drive consistent revenue growth.
- Lead and develop program staff to ensure operational excellence.
Procurement & Service Programs
- Direct procurement and vendor programs serving government agencies and stakeholders nationwide.
- Oversee contractor relationships, compliance standards, and customer service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to applicable procurement laws and operational policies.
Specialized Programs & Reporting
- Provide oversight of additional revenue‑generating programs and vendor relationships.
- Prepare executive‑level reports and present strategic recommendations to leadership and governing committees.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience , including supervision and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and executing strategic initiatives.
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
- Exceptional relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic, analytical thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
