Reports to: Chief Information and Security Officer

Company Summary
StationMD is a telehealth company dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Clinicians are available 24/7 via telemedicine for urgent and non‑urgent medical matters. StationMD also offers scheduled psychiatry telemedicine to individuals with I/DD. In providing this suite of services, StationMD enables individuals with I/DD faster access to high‑quality care and substantially reduces unnecessary medical costs.
Position Summary
The Director, Data and Analytics will lead and build StationMD's data function, overseeing both strategic data infrastructure development and day‑to‑day analytics operations. This individual will be responsible for establishing data processes, maintaining accountability for organizational data assets, and managing a team of data professionals. Initially, this individual will be hands‑on with the data while they map resourcing needs of the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Data Modeling
- Deep understanding of best practices for organizing and structuring data
- Expertise in cardinality, normalization, metadata, keys, and data entity/relationship diagrams
- Ability to produce datasets that are logically named, well‑maintained, and avoid unnecessary complexity
Data Engineering
- Strong ability to manipulate datasets, combine across multiple sources, and manage data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Familiarity with tools such as Airflow and dbt
- SQL is a core competency; Python proficiency required
Data Warehousing
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, and/or Google BigQuery
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Proficiency in modern dashboarding/reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or Domo/Qlik
- Ability to determine appropriate outputs (interactive dashboards vs. regular data exports) based on business needs
Analytics & Business Acumen
- Demonstrated ability to not only build data infrastructure but to deliver actionable data insights regularly
- Understanding of healthcare‑specific data needs including:
- Patient outcome data over time
- Billing/payments data reconciliation
- Operational metrics relevant to telehealth services
Team Leadership
- Experience managing and mentoring data professionals (Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts)
- Ability to build and scale a data team, including hiring and developing talent
- Experience with both full‑time staff and augmenting capacity with consultants/short‑term contractors when needed
Strategic Planning
- Ability to assess organizational data needs and develop roadmaps
- Experience establishing data governance and accountability frameworks
- Skill in balancing immediate reporting needs with long‑term infrastructure development
Stakeholder Management
- Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for executive leadership
- Experience partnering with clinical, operations, and business development teams
- Ability to understand and prioritize competing data requests
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields
- 3+ years in a management or leadership capacity
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred given domain‑specific data requirements
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities
- Ability to work, on occasion, during nights and weekends to support software releases and updates
