Group Director of Product- Marketplace, Seller Risk

As the product leader responsible forseller risk, support, andperformance , you will beforce multiplier for Walmart'smarketplace.

You will be directly responsible for eliminating constraints onmarketplacegrowth byimproving coreriskcontrols, along withseller supportandperformancemanagement.

This leader will be tasked with leveragingautomation and AI to solve complexriskchallenges, ensuring arobust platform that both protects customers and empowerssellers to drive themarketplaceinto its next phase of rapid, responsible growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Product Vision and Strategy for a new, combined organization encompassingSeller Risk,Seller Performance, &Seller Support within theMarketplaceOrganization.
  • DriveRiskTransformation: Develop and execute a technology roadmap focused on acceleratingmarketplacegrowth by designing and implementing robust, automatedriskcontrols, includingadvancedKYC(Know Your Customer) andidentity verification processes, and effective business trustworthiness scoring.
  • Solve the Growth Challenge: Directly address the biggest company challenge: enabling fastermarketplacegrowth by implementing keyriskinitiatives and improvingriskcontrols that currently limit expansion. Success will be measured by the ability toremove constraints on themarketplace’s growth velocity .
  • Champion Automation and AI: Emphasize product development focused onautomation and Gen AI to improveseller onboarding, enhance ongoing monitoring, and mitigate risks such as counterfeit products and fraudulentsellersthrough data-drivenmodelsand leveraging third-party signals.
  • Executive Leadership and Team Scaling: Oversee a team of approximately50 people across US and India, with 4 direct reports.
  • Influence and Align Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with a new VP and SVP overseeingSeller Riskand Support, as well as over 500 engineers and a large analytics team, effectively articulating the product needs and strategy to senior leadership.
  • First 12-Month Priority: Your initial focus will be on quickly implementing criticalriskand support initiatives to enable accelerated growth, followed byperformanceefforts.

Ideal Experience:

  • 10+ years of product management with a strong track record ine-commerce,retail, and/or two-sidedretailmarketplaces andbuilding products atscale .
  • Deep expertise inmerchant/seller riskmanagement, includingfraud prevention,KYC/KYB,compliance, andtrust(preferably inretailmarketplaces).
  • Experience building or leading products formerchant/seller support, success, growth, and/ orperformance.
  • Seasoned product leader with7+ years of leadership experience (including leading managers of managers).
  • Successful track record leadinglarge product orgs (25-50+ people) and buildinghigh performing product teams.
  • Knowledge of developingriskscores , leveraging third-party tools, and leveragingGen AI and automation in enterpriserisk-control contexts.
  • Proven success indefining and leading product strategy to drive business growth andrisktransformation .
  • Exceptional ability toinfluence andalign complex cross-functional stakeholders (Business, Engineering, Legal, Audit,Finance) to a defined strategy.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 15 years’ experience in product management. Option 2: 17 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related area and 14 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products, Supervisory experience, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
