
Director of Business Development, Government

A fast-growing, venture-backed space technology company is seeking a Director of Business Development U.S. Government to lead strategic growth across national security space customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders across U.S. Space Force, SDA, DIU, and the Intelligence Community
- Lead full lifecycle capture efforts from opportunity identification and shaping through award
- Establish early positioning strategies to influence acquisition cycles
- Build and execute B2B2G growth strategies across primes, integrators, and strategic partners
- Develop win strategies, competitive positioning, teaming approaches, and pricing alignment
- Oversee compliant, high-quality responses to RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs, and other solicitations
- Lead proposal reviews, color team processes, and submission readiness
- Provide structured market and customer feedback to product and engineering teams
- Track pipeline development, win rates, and revenue performance metrics within CRM systems
- Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS requirements
Key Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 5+ years of experience in government-focused business development or capture management
- Demonstrated success securing complex DoD, IC, or Space Force contracts
- Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS, OTAs, IDIQs, BAAs, SBIR/STTR pathways
- Experience leading cross-functional proposal teams
- Existing relationships within USSF, SDA, IC, or adjacent defense agencies
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment
