Middle Office Technology Architect / Tech Director

Focus Capital is supporting its asset manager and its private hedge fund, which operates across multiple asset classes and strategies. We are looking for a hands-on lead technologist expertise to build and improve all applications and tools that facilitate the day-to-day performance of multi-asset, multi-strat trading systems, analytics and overall buy side operations, such as real-time intraday trading analytics, performance engines, hedge fund accounting systems, etc.
In this role, you will serve as the focal point for developing greenfield middle office technologies, leading 30 engineers while working with the front office traders, product manager and executives throughout the organization. You will be able to ideate new capabilities, as well as identify and understand pain points within the technical and financial operations of the team.
The goal is to build a cutting edge multi-strat platform and functionalities capable of standing the test of time.
In this role, you would be working for the number 1 buy side trading firm in the country, with significant upside potential as well as a major emphasis on quality-of-life and work/life balance.
- 10+ years of buy side technology experience with demonstrated leadership.
- Prior hands-on development experience with a variety of languages including Python, Java, Kotlin and C++.
- Vast knowledge of technology platforms utilized internally by hedge funds including middle office hedge fund operations
- Awareness of emerging and next gen technologies and an interest in how they can be implemented into financial operations.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Quantitative finance experience.
- Bachelors in mathematics, physics, computer science, computational finance or a related field of study.
