About the Team: We are looking for top‑tier TPM talent to lead technical integration with Discover across platforms and to grow the TPM discipline within our team. You will manage enterprise‑wide programs, mentor TPMs, and influence technology and business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Build highly scalable platforms, products, or services and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Lead a world‑class team of technical program managers focused on real‑time, intelligent experiences.
• Lead technology‑focused discussions with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations that guide technology‑based decisions.
• Communicate and collaborate across product, engineering, design, and data science to simplify complexity and drive well‑educated decisions.
• Champion execution, follow‑through, accountability, and results while working cross‑functionally.
• Coach and develop a TPM practice, build foundations, and grow the team.
• Use quantitative and systems thinking to solve problems and influence stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9+ years designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing.
• 5+ years building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud services (preferably AWS).
• 5+ years building & leading experienced TPM teams.
• 5+ years building highly scalable mobile products & platforms.
• 5+ years experience with Agile delivery.
• 5+ years delivering large and complex programs, owning business or technical vision, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, securing commitments, and unblocking to produce business impact.
• Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
• MBA or Master’s in a related technical field or equivalent experience.

Compensation:

• McLean, VA: $264,300 – $301,700
• New York, NY: $288,400 – $329,100
• Richmond, VA: $240,300 – $274,300

Salary is offered based on location and reflects Capital One’s willingness to pay at the time of posting. Performance‑based incentive compensation is also available.
