Head of Middle Office Transformation - Director

We are looking for a Product Manager at the Director level to lead transformation in Middle Office within Investor Services. The Transformation Lead – Director is a key role within the Middle Office team who broadly sets the strategy and provides direction, leadership, and budgetary management for the products. This role supports the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating business lines through product life cycles, working with the broader Fund Services Management team. The overall objective is to manage and facilitate the planning, development and execution of the Middle Office Product roadmap, focused on operating models, platform redesign, data management, AI capabilities, vendors and client needs. The manager partners with tech and operations to execute the book of work while reporting program updates and ensuring the financial discipline of the business and book of work always aligns to the approved budgets. The role also helps assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrates consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguards Citigroup, its clients and assets, drives compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adheres to policy, applies sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalates, manages and reports control issues with transparency, while effectively supervising others and creating accountability for those who fail to maintain these standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own, lead, deliver and manage strategic program roadmap, development, launch and internal/external marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product.
  • Manage performance and risk related to product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies; help the team prioritize, negotiate and remove obstacles to achieve business results.
  • Own client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental challenges of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions.
  • Execute on and oversee product development in an agile framework.
  • Deploy cutting‑edge technology using various AI frameworks to speed time to market and create operating efficiency.
  • Develop, lead/own and communicate a product roadmap to approach the marketplace, coordinate and implement new capabilities, and resolve client issues through innovation.
  • Lead innovation by collaborating with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships and prepare agreements.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, while effectively supervising others and creating accountability for non‑compliance.
  • Think through strategic programs and vision, take decisions and be accountable.
  • Own the data capability for the business, including the control framework for data quality and delivering a data‑rich, near‑real‑time offering for clients, internal stakeholders and the business line.
  • Socialize future‑state vision with all other Citi partners and clients.
  • Spearhead agile initiatives, dynamically create agile squads, report on agile release trains and ensure Program Increments are executed.
  • Partner with Investor Services transformation team to ensure connectivity, drive and own the budgets for change.
  • Drive a data culture across the business and own remediation programs to ensure execution.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience delivering complex data‑rich tech transformation.
  • 3‑5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Deep expertise in Middle Office services and Investment Operations.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS).
  • Proven experience implementing AI and ML automation for efficiency and new product capabilities.
  • Background in digital assets, DLT‑based trading strategies and cryptocurrency administration is a benefit.
  • Proven record in data integration and client delivery strategy.
  • Background in supporting Asset Manager operations.
  • Understanding of trade management and settlement servicing.
  • Experience with account, fund and asset performance and client reporting.
  • Technical knowledge of IBOR and ABOR management/oversight.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Proven influence‑management capabilities to drive delivery across all stakeholders (Ops, Tech, controls, compliance, legal, procurement, risk, finance).
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Financial Engineering background a plus.
  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • CFA preferred.
