The Sr. Director, AI will lead the development and deployment of AI-enabled capabilities across Regent’s national ambulatory surgery center platform. This role is responsible for designing and implementing AI systems that drive operational efficiency, enhance clinical and administrative workflows, and directly support strategic growth and enterprise value creation across Regent’s network of surgical centers and corporate functions. Working under the SVP, Enterprise Analytics and collaborating closely with Regent senior leadership, this role will translate emerging AI technologies and established machine learning methods into practical solutions that improve performance across Regent, support long-term value creation, and position Regent as a leading AI-enabled ASC Management Company. The Sr. Director, AI will help set the vision alongside the SVP, Enterprise Analytics, and will be responsible for executing on that vision, as well as establish governance, and ensure organizational alignment while building and directing resources responsible for the delivery of AI solutions. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enterprise AI Strategy & Executive Advisory

Define and execute Regent’s enterprise AI strategy across clinical, operational, and strategic domains. Define the AI roadmap in partnership with senior leadership, ensuring AI investments map to measurable improvements in EBITDA, margin, or scalability. Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on the application of artificial intelligence across Regent’s platform, identifying high-impact AI opportunities that improve operational efficiency and support ASC growth. Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and partnership opportunities that support Regent’s long-term AI strategy. Lead development and deployment of conversational AI tools that support clinical and operational workflows across Regent’s ASC network. Design AI assistants that augment staff productivity, improve administrative efficiency, and reduce documentation burden. Develop intelligent agents that support functions such as reporting, market analysis, quality metric tracking, and operational coordination. Establish frameworks for deploying, monitoring, and governing AI agents across the organization with appropriate human oversight. Direct the development of AI-driven market intelligence capabilities that inform Regent’s expansion strategy and competitive positioning. Oversee development of predictive models and scenario analyses that inform partnership opportunities, new center development, and physician recruitment. Deliver executive decision support through data-driven market opportunity modeling and strategic analysis that directly influences investment and growth decisions. Organizational AI Enablement & Education

Serve as Regent’s internal AI evangelist and educator, building organizational fluency in AI capabilities and applications. Train executive leadership, operational teams, and clinical partners on emerging AI technologies and their practical applications in surgical care delivery. Help operational leaders across Regent identify and prioritize opportunities to apply AI within their domains. Define the communication strategy for AI initiatives across the organization, ensuring transparency and trust as capabilities expand. AI Governance & Responsible Deployment

Establish governance frameworks that guide the responsible and effective deployment of AI across Regent. Define standards for model development, evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management. Ensure AI solutions align with regulatory requirements, patient privacy considerations, and healthcare industry best practices. Partner with data, IT, analytics, and operational leadership to create scalable processes for evaluating, approving, and deploying AI solutions enterprise-wide. Define the team structure, hiring plan, and capability roadmap needed to execute Regent’s AI strategy. Establish scalable AI infrastructure, MLOps processes, and technical governance practices. Partner with analytics, product, operations, and clinical teams to deploy AI capabilities across Regent. Recruit, develop, and retain AI and data science talent, building a team that can sustain and scale capabilities beyond individual contribution. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Ten plus (10+) years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI, with demonstrated leadership at the director level or above. Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field preferred.
