SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO PRODUCER, Community Engagement
Boston University’s award‑winning External Affairs division is looking for a Social Media Video Producer to join the Public Relations Social Media team. The role reports to the Director of Social Media and is responsible for creating engaging short‑form video content that aligns with BU’s brand, social media strategy, and strategic priorities. The producer will develop and execute content that drives engagement, incorporates current social media trends, and increases brand awareness across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, script, film, edit, and publish short‑form video content for BU’s social media channels.
Work closely with the Director of Social Media and other PR Social team members to develop content calendars and execute campaigns.
Optimize videos for maximum engagement, incorporating on‑trending formats such as TikTok Shortcuts and YouTube Shorts.
Analyze performance metrics to refine storytelling techniques and improve audience reach.
Collaborate with marketing, research, and community partners to showcase BU’s academic excellence, research, and community initiatives.
Required Skills
Strong storytelling and narrative skills for social media formats.
Experience filming with smartphones and professional cameras.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
Working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
Understanding of social media trends and best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable appearing and speaking in front of the camera.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Basic SEO knowledge is a plus.
Location: Boston, MA Position Type: Full-Time Salary Grade: 45 – $48,075.00–$60,625.00
