
Student - Study Abroad Marketing and Recruitment Assistant

Under the direction of the Education Abroad Program Manager, the Study Abroad Marketing and Recruitment Assistant will help in the creation of marketing materials for the Office of Education Abroad. These include creating bulletin boards, posters, flyers, digital billboards, social media campaigns, etc. They will also help create and maintain social media platforms, answer questions about study abroad, distribute materials at information tables across campus, attend marketing events, and other duties as assigned.
Special Instructions to Applicant Student must bring examples of their work using Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe InDesign, to the interview. This can be pictures or a website.
Create cohesive marketing designs for upcoming UVU Faculty-Led Study Abroad programs.
Incorporate marketing designs into hallway bulletin board and map.
Provide designs for events/meetings and third-party provider programs as requested.
Produce marketing materials as requested (ie: stickers, buttons).
Table during high traffic times and talk with students about upcoming programs.
Attend marketing events upon request and talk with incoming students.
Create end-of-year review promotional material (ie: Annual Report Booklet).
Receive visitors/students to the Office of Education abroad via the front desk.
Answer phone and in-person questions about UVU’s study abroad programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be a current UVU student.
Must be able to work between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of UVU Study Abroad Programs
Have participated on a UVU study abroad program if possible.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, moving about the office and university.
Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premier) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
Marketing basic abilities
Social Media platform knowledge
Image editing skills
Time management
Interpersonal communication, decision‑making and problem solving.
Ability to work independently, multi‑task, and manage day‑to‑day tasks.
Ability to perform a variety of marketing and support duties with minimum supervision.
Ability to follow and/or communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Ability to answer phone calls and communicate via phone.
