Job Summary The Commercial Relationship Specialist will be responsible for advising members on the products and services available to our business and organization accountholders as well as underwriting and servicing Commercial Accounts, assisting the Director of Member Business with periodic reviews, fostering relationships with businesses in the footprint of the credit union, and servicing businesses with deposit/treasury and loan products.
Job Duties
Understand and explain the eligibility requirements for membership. Open and approve new accounts (Savings, checking, money management, online banking, ACH origination, etc.), provide account maintenance, and assist members with any needs they may incur with our services.
Obtain all required documentation for any deposit or loan requests with special focus on additional documents required for business and organization accounts.
Understand all products and services offered and cross-sell consumer and business products; i.e., online banking, debit/ credit cards, merchant services, treasury products, and commercial loans.
Adhere to general savings/loan related policies and procedures, as well as comply with applicable statutes and regulations including, but not limited to, BSA.
Interview applicants, read and understand credit reports and refer any consumer/mortgage loan opportunities. Refer members to Founders Investment and Insurance Service agents. Also promote FIT to business accountholders and potential accountholders.
Support Director of Member Business in developing and maintaining a small business platform with the goal of enhancing the member business experience and ensuring quality member business growth. This includes reaching out to businesses and offering treasury /deposit and loan products and merchant services as well as onboarding businesses to treasury products and online banking. Assist in underwriting and reviewing participation loan opportunities. Assist in servicing and onboarding businesses to ACH platform(s) offered by the credit union.
Make credit decisions and obtain necessary approvals for loan requests.
Work with Senior Management on any reporting needs. Complete/Perform presentations to Senior and Executive management when necessary to communicate new products and services as well as update business/commercial portfolio performance.
Communicate closely and professionally with other departments within the credit union (i.e., Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Card Services) to facilitate proper processes to meet our members’ needs. Also communicate and lead vendor presentations and lead vendor relationships, for example treasury and loan vendor relationships.
Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts.
Speak with and present information to large groups of business owners and organization leaders. Also be willing to travel within FFCU footprint to service business members and offer products and services if needed.
Find innovative processes and solutions to improve and grow our member business portfolio. This includes but is not limited to reviewing current processes to create more efficiencies to better serve our business members. Research vendors offering innovative solutions as well as work within the credit union for innovative and efficient solutions.
Register as a Mortgage Loan Originator and attend annual training to comply with the SAFE Act.

Job Specifications
The Commercial Relationship Specialist must be detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks with minimum supervision.
Must have at least a 4-year degree along with 5 years of commercial banking experience working with complex financial scenarios including servicing commercial businesses, knowledge of commercial treasury/deposit and loan products.
Must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible to be able to work in various office locations, and travel as needed.
