New York, NY Role Overview FT Partners is seeking an Experienced Associate for its Special Executions Group (SpecialX). SpecialX is the firm’s dedicated financial and strategic execution arm. We work alongside the investment banking teams with a focus on ensuring that financial analysis, growth positioning, and investor materials are fully prepared to withstand sophisticated private equity and strategic buyer scrutiny. Role Description The Associate will operate in an oversight-heavy, forward-looking role at the center of live transactions. They will help shape how high-growth FinTech companies articulate and defend their growth story to sophisticated investors, advise on growth projections and risk framing, and construct the financial narrative to align with investor underwriting. This requires strong financial judgment, intellectual confidence, and the ability to move between detailed execution and strategic advisory. The Associate will work directly with senior bankers and firm leadership, gaining exposure to transaction strategy and investor positioning at the highest levels. Key Responsibilities Own critical financial and growth workstreams across live deals, including revenue quality, cohort & retention analysis, unit economics, sales efficiency, and growth validation Advise bankers and management teams on how growth should be modeled, projected, and defended before sophisticated investors Identify and frame key issues driving investor scrutiny, surface risks, and shape mitigation strategies prior to diligence Maintain visibility across multiple transactions, balancing deep execution on select deals with high-level oversight Set and reinforce high standards of analytical rigor and investor-grade thinking, including mentorship of junior professionals Help strengthen and institutionalize SpecialX as a differentiated strategic capability within FT Partners General Qualifications Major in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required Advanced degree and/or professional qualifications strongly preferred (e.g., MSc, MBA, CPA, CFA) Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in transaction services, financial due diligence (FDD / QoE), or high-growth corporate finance roles strongly preferred SaaS / Tech or FinTech experience strongly preferred Permanent U.S. work authorization required. Base pay offered may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation may include discretionary awards and a full range of benefits (including medical, 401(k), paid time off, etc.). Details will be provided with an offer.
