Overview The Assistant Director - Housing and Homelessness Resources and Services directs, leads, plans, and oversees the activities, operations, and systems supporting homeless programs and projects. Oversees programs, personnel, outreach, and advocacy.

Essential Functions

Directs and leads the daily operations of the Housing and Homeless; develops, analyzes, and institutes all programs, systems, and outreach activities to ensure effective budget development, community support and advocacy, and information delivery and support; builds strong relationships between the department and the surrounding communities.

Lease and directs personnel providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations; creates and implements policies and procedures to enhance service delivery; ensures personnel are engaging and supporting homeless communities providing strong outreach, advocacy, and support services; analyzes success of programs and facilitates changes to support population.

Plans, develops, and implements budget and funding for the department's activities.

Establishes goals and objectives and researches trends that may impact housing and homeless program effectiveness and funding; directs and supports multiple external and internal audits and addresses findings to improve the services and processes.

Creates and reviews monthly reports to measure department objectives and performance; oversees productivity and service metrics and communicates with personnel to strengthen the departments services.

Represents the program area at meetings, hearings, trials, conferences, and seminars or on boards, panels, and committees.

Prepares and presents written reports and documents; communicates and summarizes internal program findings and corrective action recommendations.

Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Knowledge of homeless population and city demographics.

Knowledge of public administration and departmental management.

Knowledge of advocacy and housing homeless support.

Ability to develop and implement effective budget and funding resources.

Ability to interpret and explain homeless systems and programs.

Ability to manage the work of contractors and other personnel.

Ability to direct and lead personnel and department providing Homeless Services and Outreach.

Ability to draft documents and findings and represent the department when needed.

Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Experience 10 Years' working in social services, community development, or related.

Licenses and Certifications May require specialty license, certification, or registration.

Education Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related.

Salary Range $119,870.40 - $149,822.40

The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
