
Associate Director – Finance & Accounting

We are partnering with a
privately held real estate development firm
on a senior‑level finance and accounting role supporting a
high‑profile, Class A mixed‑use development
in downtown Nashville. This position was newly created to add local finance leadership and will work closely with a seasoned finance team based at the company’s headquarters. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role that blends
controller‑level accounting oversight
with
strategic finance, modeling, and deal support . Ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, partnering cross‑functionally, and operating in a dynamic development environment. Key Responsibilities
Oversee financial reporting and review work prepared by third‑party accounting partners Ensure accurate, timely reporting across multiple properties and entities Manage complex cost allocations and support property management and construction teams Build and analyze financial models (DCF, IRR, MOIC, scenario analysis) Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Partner closely with Legal and Construction on contracts, loan documents, leases, and agreements Present financial insights to senior leadership and ownership Contribute to acquisition analysis and future development phases Help build scalable processes as the portfolio continues to grow Qualifications
7–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience Strong accounting foundation;
CPA
strongly preferred Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus Experience beyond pure accounting (strategic finance, modeling, deal analysis) Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Polished, professional presence with the ability to interact confidently with senior leadership Highly adaptable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable in a fast‑moving environment 100% onsite role in Nashville, TN Open to candidates willing to relocate Reports to senior finance leadership No direct reports initially Competitive base salary + annual discretionary bonus Clear growth trajectory toward Director‑level leadership If you’re looking for a
