Tax Analyst

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to join a growing Houston‑based organization and support the company’s expanding tax compliance, reporting, and planning needs. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely tax filings across multiple jurisdictions while partnering closely with Accounting, Finance, and external advisors as the business continues to scale. The Tax Analyst will take ownership of core tax processes, contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives, and support leadership with tax‑related analysis and insights. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in corporate tax, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Core Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze federal, state, and local tax filings, including income, sales and use, and other indirect taxes Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including book‑to‑tax differences, deferred tax schedules, and effective tax rate analysis Assist with the preparation and maintenance of tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and documentation in accordance with GAAP Perform detailed tax account reconciliations and investigate variances between tax and financial reporting Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax compliance, audits, and information requests Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess potential impacts to the organization Support nexus analysis, tax registrations, and multi‑state compliance requirements as the company expands Assist with fixed asset tax depreciation and capitalization tracking in coordination with the Accounting team Prepare tax‑related reports and analysis for management, highlighting risks, trends, and planning opportunities Contribute to the development and enhancement of tax processes, controls, and documentation Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency within the tax function Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline 3–6+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting and/or industry) Strong understanding of corporate tax compliance and tax accounting fundamentals Experience supporting tax provisions and reconciling tax‑related balance sheet accounts Familiarity with multi‑state tax filings and compliance requirements Advanced Excel skills; experience with tax and accounting systems such as ONESOURCE, CCH, Avalara, NetSuite, or similar platforms preferred Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with non‑tax stakeholders
