Overview The Relationship Banker will sell a full range of banking services and products to individual customers and small businesses, emphasizing meeting customer needs, providing exceptional customer service, and actively soliciting new customers. Interview consumer or commercial loan customers, process consumer loans, provide sales leadership to staff, and participate in branch external business development efforts. Also, sell business products of a more complex nature, i.e., cash management accounts.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service per Coastal's Core Values.

Interview and assess customer and non‑customer needs and suggest appropriate products or services.

Communicate with customers in the branch, over the phone, or during personal visits to local businesses.

Outside sales calling is required and determined by Bank Center Management.

Conduct phone follow‑up and actively raise customer awareness of bank products and services. These activities may have a standard of frequency set by Bank Center Management.

Maintain an organized system for tracking and following up on customer needs and track monthly production to the branch goals.

Provide customer referrals to Treasury Management, Commercial, and Consumer Lending, Cash Management, and Real Estate Lending.

Provide timely resolution and follow through on customer issues and concerns.

Complete required account documentation according to bank guidelines.

Maintain current knowledge of banking rules and regulations and complete monthly online training.

Actively work with a book of customers to build relationships, grow the book's value to meet goals, and keep a firm grasp on the retention of our clients. May also include relationship reviews with a line of business.

Represent Coastal positively and professionally.

Other duties may be assigned.

Follow and comply with all regulatory and compliance regulations.

Qualifications

Outgoing, professional attitude with customers, prospects, and co‑workers.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Handle multiple tasks at the same time.

Excellent attention to detail.

Education / Experience

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school preferred; or

two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PC experience navigating in a Windows environment and using various applications.

Basic internet skills.

Production generation experience preferred.

Previous experience selling financial products.

Previous experience growing and developing an existing customer base.
