Job Description Reporting to the Director, Group Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving new and repeat business at the hotel. You are a natural relator and people person, passionate about selling incredible experiences for guests. You love networking and the thrill of exceeding goals – and you’ll be doing just that in an award‑winning hotel.
Responsibilities
Book 10‑75 rooms on peak days
Confirm and review function details with clients prior to arrival
Meet clients prior to departure to ensure all contract details were delivered and solicit future business
Meet quarterly and annual sales revenue goals
Negotiate new business within established booking parameters
Maintain growth of existing accounts
Partner with all hotel departments to assure a flawless customer program, including Event Services, Banquets, Culinary, and Front Office
Obtain rooming list details and request deposits where applicable
Establish parameters, negotiate prices, and confirm by written contracts; ensure all contract details are delivered and guests depart satisfied
Maintain positive relationships with all guests, vendors, colleagues and the global sales network
Solicit group and banquet business through execution of an action plan
Participate in customer and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations
Maintain accounts, contacts, activity and business details within the appropriate PMS applications
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required
Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
Follow departmental policies and procedures
Follow all safety policies
Perform any other tasks that may be assigned
Qualifications
University/College degree and/or experience in a related discipline preferred
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities
Previous leadership experience within hospitality is an asset
Guest‑focused with a passion for service excellence
Works well under pressure in a fast‑paced and constantly changing environment
Ability to multi‑task
Strong selling skills, including negotiation and closing
Knowledge of Opera or Property Manager, Microsoft Office and Windows XP preferred
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
Benefits
Salary range: $63,000 – $65,000, plus bonus eligible
