Position: Account Executive – Screening Sales Full‑time, Field‑based

This is a unique opportunity to join our growing Screening and Early Detection commercial team. You’ll collaborate closely with sales leadership to shape go‑to‑market strategies and launch groundbreaking cancer screening technologies that directly impact patients’ lives. In this role, you’ll promote the SHIELD colorectal cancer (CRC) blood test to healthcare providers in the primary care setting, driving early detection, saving lives, and reducing healthcare costs.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Engagement

Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed sales goals through effective prospecting, relationship‑building, and execution of national sales strategies.

Target and Engage Healthcare Providers: Build strong relationships with medical professionals, securing commitment to adopt the Shield test for CRC and other cancers.

Challenger Selling: Engage providers to understand their needs and demonstrate how Guardant Health’s solutions improve patient outcomes and streamline practices.

Educate and Support Providers: Deliver in‑depth product knowledge and training to primary care practices, gaining support from all stakeholders and ensuring smooth integration of SHIELD into workflows.

Collaboration & Strategy

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—clinical, marketing, and product—to align sales strategies, share feedback, and execute business plans cohesively.

Strategic Business Expansion: Identify new business opportunities within your territory and partner with regional and local laboratories to expand reach and secure phlebotomy draw agreements.

Plan & Execute Launches: Develop and deploy business plans to support the successful launch of new cancer screening technologies.

Market Insights & Analysis

Monitor Competitive Landscape: Continuously analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to refine sales tactics.

Customer Feedback & Reporting: Share key insights and opportunities with the Commercial Team to enhance product offerings and optimize strategies.

Customer Service & Operations

Provide High‑Touch Customer Service: Maintain exceptional service standards by proactively resolving issues and supporting providers throughout the sales process.

Compliance & Administrative Excellence: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulations while managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of customer‑facing sales in healthcare (diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical) or at least 2 years plus direct clinical experience as an RN or PA.

Preferred: Experience with diagnostic products, especially blood‑based testing or cancer screening, and familiarity with primary care landscape in your territory.

Sales Expertise: Proven ability to engage in selling conversations, overcome objections, and align client needs with product offerings. Preferred: Experience in planning and executing product launches in healthcare or diagnostics.

Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare provider landscape and the ability to quickly learn technical product details.

Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to present complex information clearly.

CRM Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce, Veeva, or similar platforms for tracking interactions and sales progress.

Customer Service Excellence: Superior negotiation, problem‑solving, and customer service skills. Preferred: High‑touch relationship building for long‑term partnership.

Personal Requirements

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Travel Flexibility: Daily travel within assigned territory and occasional national travel for sales meetings.

Compensation Annualized base salary ranges for the primary location: $116,000 – $133,000. This range does not include benefits, bonuses, commission, or equity.

Hybrid Work Model Eligible onsite employees living within 50 miles of a Guardant facility must be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. All US employees may work from home on remaining days, ensuring a blend of collaborative in‑office time and focused individual work.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. The majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time is required.
