
Account Manager

The Account Manager is a senior, hands‑on commercial operator responsible for owning customer relationships end‑to‑end in a regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. The role will be accountable for pricing strategies, contractual reviews, and order management.
The business is on a clear growth trajectory, with increasing program complexity and customer demand over the next five years. They currently operate at $65m in revenue, with strong growth plans, backed by private‑equity. The position will act as the primary commercial owner for your accounts, balancing customer expectations, contractual obligations, and internal capability - while driving long‑term value and margin. Success in this role requires strategy, execution, and an entrepreneurial mindset to manage relationships and the evolving business dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Owning day‑to‑day customer relationships as the main commercial point of contact
Meticulously represent the organization, while engaging with customers to identify opportunities for growth
Developing pricing strategies, business cases, and quote summaries for approval
Reviewing and negotiating contracts, POs, and terms & conditions (FAR / DFAR exposure)
Managing order intake, forecasts, delivery schedules, and customer portals
Coordinating closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Shipping to resolve issues before they escape
Leading cross‑functional problem‑solving when delivery, quality, or contractual risk emerges
Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring contractual compliance
Driving continuous improvement in customer experience, order flow, and execution discipline
Necessary Attributes/Experience
Has a minimum of 5 years experience in account management, commercial, programme, or customer‑facing roles within aerospace or defense manufacturing
Is commercially sharp, comfortable with pricing, margin, contracts, and data
Understands regulated environments and complex customer requirements
Familiarity with AS9100 and Government contracting
Likes pace, responsibility, and being trusted to run accounts properly
Wants to grow into senior account leadership or people management over time
