The ERCOT Internship Program allows college students the opportunity to develop their skills in a technical and high‑paced, professional work environment. Interns receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry.
The internship program also allows students to experience working alongside ERCOT employees and being part of a team. Throughout the internship, ERCOT leaders are able to evaluate each individual interns’ capabilities and compatibility with ERCOT’s mission, vision and values.
Education
Computer Science or business degree candidate preferred
Eligible candidates should be enrolled in an academic bachelors or post graduate degree program maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Completed sophomore year
Summary Of Responsibilities
Workflow Documentation and Process Improvements
Document Power Automate workflows and logs
Figure out a way to separate training logs and mark them low priority
Code enhancements in test environment
Participate in testing the deployment of on‑prem Microsoft Project Server
Reverse‑engineer select Power BI reports
Operations Support
Load engagements in Microsoft Project Online
Assess resource capacity for proposed project starts – potentially apply AI
Use Fluentbooks to back up a prod project and restore to test environment
Other special projects within Portfolio Management
Project Deliverable
Workflow Documentation and Process Improvements
Work Location – Taylor, TX
Interns will be required to be on‑site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management.
This is a full‑time internship for the Summer of 2026. The program will run from the start of June through the second week of August.
