Customs Entry Writer | New York, NY | Salary up to $70,000
This role is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation for international shipments entering the United States. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment and a strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit customs entries for import shipments in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
Review shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival notices.
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure correct duty assessment.
Communicate with importers, carriers, government agencies, and internal operations teams to obtain necessary documentation.
Monitor shipment status and ensure timely customs clearance.
Address customs holds, exams, and requests for information from CBP or partner government agencies.
Maintain accurate records of customs documentation and entries in internal systems.
Ensure compliance with all import regulations, trade agreements, and company policies.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in customs entry writing, customs brokerage, or freight forwarding.
Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import procedures.
Experience with customs brokerage software (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, or similar systems).
Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
